Say hello to this handsome little man, Mr. Caleb Alexander! Sometimes, I just don’t know how I bring myself to disturb precious, sleeping babies after a setup. I might, kind of take a few more photos than I need, just so I can stare at the cuteness a little while longer. But shhhhh. ;)
I’ve also known this mom and dad since my early college days. It’s been very exciting to watch a lot of my friends have babies recently. And I’ve been so honored that they have trusted me to capture this treasured time in their lives. ♥
I’ve enjoyed watching the journeys my friends have taken into the next chapter of parenthood. Each journey has been different, and they each have fallen so naturally into their roles as parents.
I’ve especially enjoyed watching the dads. It’s typical for people to always praise the moms, but I always like to pay attention to the dads too, and give them the credit they deserve.
Just look here at Caleb’s dad. He is such a proud new papa, full of love! And he took such good care of his family in the first weeks after Caleb was born.
And Mama here, she was singing to her sweet baby boy for most of our session. It was absolutely endearing. Little Caleb was perfectly content and so peaceful listening to his mama’s voice.
I recently read somewhere, that singing has many soothing benefits for babies. Even if the lullaby makes no sense and you can’t carry a tune. I’m a pretty bad singer myself (think Lucy Ricardo), but I still sing to my littles before bed. I think they are turning out pretty well, so go ahead parents, sing to your babies!
